We are currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our West Chicago warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for: Warehouse operation and supervision of team members with emphasis on safety, quality, and service; Accountable for achieving company objectives, productivity standards and cost control goals; Coordinate activities including picking and shipping, receiving and put away, inventory control, cycle-counting, value-added services, and ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Train, develop and lead hourly employees to ensure an efficient and cost-effective operation

  • Maintain strong adherence to all safety and regulatory requirements. Provide a safe, organized and clean facility

  • Ensure cross-training of all warehouse personnel

  • Focus on continuous improvement and make recommendations to improve operations in areas such as safety, process flow, space utilization/layout, inventory accuracy and value-added services

  • Work in concert with Inventory Control personnel to manage inventory control activities with emphasis on space utilization and monthly cycle count expectations

  • Manage various personnel to ensure the scheduling of inbound & outbound shipments, the preparation of shipping and receiving documents, reporting, returns processing, sales and customer service inquiries and other duties as assigned

  • Deal effectively across all levels of the organization; solve problems between warehouse and other departments. Collaborative approach and shares decision making process with team

  • Required to take on special projects as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and supervise warehouse staff members. In concert with local DCM, this individual is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommendations for hiring employees; training, planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; rewarding and corrective action; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma, some college or technical school; and minimum 3- 5 years related warehouse management/supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with ERP and WMS systems preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Forklift Driver

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The ability to follow and maintain operational procedures, demonstrate organizational skill, ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form in a professional manner. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in front of groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
