Your efficiency, accuracy, and dedication are the reasons we want to speak with you! Shorr Packaging Corporation is looking for a Warehouse Operator to join our staff in West Chicago. As a Warehouse Operator, you will be responsible for operating powered equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, stacking, and counting product in the warehouse.

  • Fill customer orders, work orders, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

  • Prepare proper shipping documents.

  • Move inventory materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.

  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.

  • Maintain warehouse equipment.

  • Assist with any secondary warehouse duties: receiving, put away, shipping, and assembly.

  • Keep warehouse area clean including sweeping the floors and picking up loose materials.

  • Assure adequate resources are available to meet food safety objectives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer skills

Experience with RF Scanners and Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Fork Truck certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must lift, slide and/or move up to 100 pounds of material from pallet to pallet, and lift up to 20 pounds 72 inches from floor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
