Engineer I - Facilities
Lake County is seeking someone who can work in the maintenance and repair of physical plant and mechanical equipment for the County. This candidate will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and operation of central heating/cooling plants, back-up electrical power systems, HVAC, water and electrical infrastructure, fire and life safety systems, and food service and refrigeration equipment. This position will work Sunday - Thursday from 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm and requires very heavy work involving exerting over 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift and /or carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
In order to be successful in this position the candidate will be responsible for maintaining operating records and logs for reporting so knowledge of using a computer is a must. They must have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide guidance to their team members when needed.
We are looking for someone who has five years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment, and a variety of building/maintenance trades. Completion of an associate degree or the equivalent of two years of college or vocational school education.
Possession of a State Stationary Engineer’s License.
Possession of a valid Driver’s License, supplemented by a satisfactory driving record.
