COMPANY: Total Grain Marketing HIRING MANAGER: Duane Niemerg LOCATION: Shelbyville, IL * Education and Experience:* Requires a high school diploma, GED or related experience equivalent. Requires an acceptable valid CDL and valid DOT medical card with clear driving record. * Job Summary:* Operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks, multi-axle configuration trucks for delivery and/or pick-up of ag items/materials, agronomy and/or other equipment. Ability to work extended hours. * Reports to / Supervision Received:* Transportation Manager * Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):* * Records data according to regulations and standards. * Transports grain and materials to and from various location. * Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to safely operate single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards. * Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes. * Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck to present a professional appearance. * Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars. * Ensures products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are met. * Responsible for the inventory control and turns in records on a daily basis. * Assures all products are accounted for with either an invoice or a delivery ticket. * Ensures that all associated documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices are completed accurately and returned to the branch location at the end of the day in order to ensure timely receiving and payment of invoices. * Completes necessary paperwork, including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned record-keeping duties on a daily basis. * Responsible for maintaining company equipment according to company standards, adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image. * Successfully adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures. EHS, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures must be adhered to at all times.
