Pitt Ohio Shop Supervisor in Peru, Illinois
Description/Job Summary
PURPOSE
To oversee the coordination, planning, and scheduling of maintenance at all shop locations. To oversee implementation of the Preventative Maintenance program and ensure compliance with Corporate policies and Federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervise lead mechanics in all Dohrn Shops virtually (from remote location TBD). Report to fleet manager with any concerns, habitual issues, behavioral corrections or training that need to occur.
Review repair orders to ensure quality, consistent and efficient work at shops, accuracy of information being entered, as well as job completion times vs standard repair times, advising fleet manager when issues arise.
Monitor direct and indirect times in each shop location and strategize on how to maintain company standards.
Monitor each shops activity to ensure safe and productive work environment.
Work with Fleet Manager to determine manpower needs in regard to overtime, etc.
Assist in training and evaluating all shop mechanics.
Reacting to change productively - helping to maintain good relationship between the operation and shop staff.
Communicate efficiently with terminal managers when needed.
Report all facility issues to the Facilities Maintenance Department.
Act as liaison between mechanics and parts - monitoring levels and usage of parts, to call out for adjustments to normally stocked parts to minimize downtime.
Assisting the parts supervisor in facilitating inventories at the shop level.
Assist leads and fleet manager in routing non-shop location PM's and work needed due through Dohrn shops throughout the system.
Perform other duties as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*
A minimum age of 18
High School completion or equivalent
Valid Driver License
Supervisory experience required
Strong leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be detail oriented and organized, committed to performing high quality work
Strong Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Excellent attendance
Strong leadership skills
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Weekend and evening hours occasionally required, availability on off shift by cell phone
Visual Acuity including regular use of items such as computer screen or monitor
Occasional standing, walking, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, carrying, bending at the waist, reaching, and lifting both above and below waist level may be required
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and 100+ lbs. on an infrequent basis
Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
Must have the ability to safely enter and maneuver in a shop
Must have the ability to work around and operate shop equipment
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job description
May be exposed to extreme hot or cold temperatures in a shop environment and must be able to perform essential functions in these conditions
