- PURPOSE AND SUMMARY*
This position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of different Turf equipment including but not limited to: Sprayers, Mowers, Forklifts, etc. Prior experience operating equipment is required. Must have Illinois Pesticide Applicator License and be able to obtain a CDL. Applicant needs to have attention to detail and be able to interact well with customers
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*
Maintain a current Illinois Applicators License with a Turf and Ornamental Endorsement.
Custom apply turf fertilizer and chemical accurately and efficiently.
Identify target market accounts, key accounts, and key prospects in the assigned territory.
Develop a strategy for fulfilling each target market accounts wants and needs with turf products.
Assist in the training of location personnel to enable them to meet the needs of the customer.
Subscribe to and support the company credit policy.
Complete necessary paperwork after each turf job for billing and record purposes.
Assist other plants when necessary at the direction of the location manager.
Maintain equipment, which reflects a good company image and minimizes downtime.
Maintain good communication with location manager with regards to daily activities and any necessary maintenance.
Complete necessary maintenance paperwork on all equipment
Maintain a valid CDL in order to deliver plant food and chemicals for Turf application and direct patron deliveries.
Maintain a current DOT physical.
Maintain daily DOT daily inspection reports.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS*
Normally requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of related work experience
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Requires an acceptable class A CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements
Frequently exposed or required to:
Extreme weather conditions /(hot, cold, wet, etc.)/
Noisy conditions
Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and with appropriate safety measures
Lift 51-70 pounds
Required to push heavy objects
Ability to work extended hours
Ability to travel independently and overnight
