We are hiring a Shipper for our Overnight shift from 12a-8a.

Responsible for loading assorted production and scrap into trailers for shipping. Shipper will use bill-of-lading, specifying trailer and products to be loaded, and load items manually and/or with the use of a fork-lift.

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Regular and consistent Attendance is Required

  • Comply with Dart Container’s policies and procedures

  • Responsible for loading assorted production into trailers for shipping. Shipper will use bill-of-lading, specifying trailer and products to be loaded, and will operate a fork-lift or clamp-truck for loading. Shipper may have to manually stack production into trailers to ensure effective space utilization.

  • Shipper is responsible for ensuring any “special instructions” on the bills of lading are followed. Responsible for making load adjustments to ensure priority shipments are completed. After loading is complete Shipper will return checked off bill-of-lading.Responsible for loading scrap materials to include cardboard, film and cores. Shipper will properly dispose of packing/shipping materials.

  • Responsible for coordinating with Shipping Supervisor regarding shipping needs.

  • Must inspect fork-lift/clamp-truck at the beginning and end of each shift and complete the "Electric Truck Driver's Daily Check Sheet". Responsible for changing fork-lift and squeeze lift batteries as necessary.

  • Responsible for general housekeeping and area cleanliness; sweeps trailers prior to loading.

  • Will conduct physical inventory of product and materials throughout the warehouse.

  • Will assist with the movement of materials and product throughout the plant as needed. This could include taking finished product from the Production/Print Departments floors, determining where it will be placed in the warehouse, and storing it properly. He/she may also supply the lines with needed materials as requested.

  • May perform the duties of Receiver as needed. This includes unloading and storing received materials and products.

  • Must sustain good or better attendance on performance appraisals.

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Six months previous shipping/receiving experience, including experience loading/unloading trucks, is required

  • Previous experience using a fork-lift. Must obtain and maintain OSHA fork-lift certification through Dart.

  • Ability to utilize equipment including dock plates/leveler, hand carts, hydraulic pallet jacks, batteries, battery chargers, and brooms.

  • Ability to safely operate and work around fork-lifts/clamp-trucks and to ensure the safety of others. Ability to communicate with others and to receive instruction.
