Dot Foods, Inc. Assistant Transportation Manager - DTI Admin in Mt. Sterling, Illinois
Location: Mt. Sterling, IL Department: Transportation/DTI Reports To: DTI Director of Operations
Your Role: Responsible for managing the DTI Admin group that coordinates the driver payroll process. Aids the Director of Operations in establishing and maintaining Dot Transportation fleet performance in all areas of our business including recruiting, analytics, operations, payroll, budgeting, etc.
Coordinates and manages the driver payroll process.
Coordinates our annual logistics study with our analyst group.
Conducts driver interviews and supports driver recruiting both in Mt. Sterling and at our terminal locations.
Supports and mentors the Supply Chain Analyst group.
Assists with the DTI budget preparation and execution.
Manages DTI’s fuel card program.
Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.
Supervision – Assigned a team of DTI Admin. staff.
Travel – Approx. 2-3 nights per month. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train for training or meetings.
We Need You To Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent Dot Foods experience
Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Computer skills, experience in using Microsoft Office programs/ applications
Ability to function in a multi-task environment
We’d Like You To Have:
Prior management experience
Prior transportation experience
Ability to influence desired behavior change with internal/external customers and vendors
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in one-on-one and group settings
