Aerotek General Production Worker in Joliet, Illinois
Description:
Candidates will be responsible for controlling the flow of grain
They will need to be good with computers and tech savy.
Need to be able to think on their feet and handle responsibilities
Basically they will be sitting in a control room monitoring the flow of grain on a computer screen. They will be trained on how to do this - but if they've work with grain or the ethanol industry they may be familiar
They will be computing grain weights
Also loading containers with grain
Need to follow and recognize proper go signs
Need to be aware not to put wheat and beans within the same container/truck
Will be placing orders in containers, using shipment logs, mixing grain from silos
Line up trailers/truck drivers in appropriate loading zone
Open valve on trucks to dump product
Operate a Hopper to take grain/corn out of inbound trucks (push a button)
Ensure that product goes to the correct silo (working with scale clerk up front via radio)
Clean up spilled product prior to taking the next truck
50% will be indoors - 50 % is outdoors - need to be comfortable with this
Shift hours:
Will train Monday-Friday (6:00am-4:30pm/5pm)
Will also need to be available to work around 5 hours on Saturdays.
Need to be comfortable working 48-55 hrs a week if need be
Pay rate - $17 hr
