Title: MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR/WAREHOUSE DC /PART-TIME Location: United States-Illinois-Great Lakes Job Number: 200002GZ
Job Summary: Operates a motor vehicle with gross vehicle between 10000 and 26000 pounds on and offbase. Also performs various tasks in connection with the receipt storing issuing of stock and merchandise the Distribution Center andor Exchange. Duties and Responsibilities: Drives a cargo van or stake truck both on and offbase to pickup and deliver merchandise. Loads and unloads vehicle. Maintains appropriate records documenting the movement of merchandise. Completes drivers trip and accident reports. Completes pre and post trips inspection reports and performs preventive maintenance on assigned vehicle or vehicle being utilized for that days work. Performs a combination of one or more of the following duties Receives merchandise supplies andor equipment from vendors or manufacturers by unloading conveyances moves items by handcart conveyor or similar conveyance checks items against proper document making proper notation on same and reporting discrepancies and damages to supervisor. Places identified stock in appropriate temporary or permanent storage locations according to specific oral or written instructions and established methods. May sign for items received. Opens inspects counts marks and tags items. Receives invoice from vendor on merchandise ordered checks against RGR to insure items and quantity ordered are received checks costs and retail price and reports shortages overages or damaged items to supervisor. Prepares storage locations for new merchandise places items in bins and arranges on shelves. Warehouses palletized or bulk stock according to specified locations restacking warehousing items and straightening stacks as directed sorts out bad containers and restacks or takes to bin areas. Periodically checks tags or bins for mixed stock to incorrrect locations corrects or notifies supervisor or problems. May be assigned a specific area for the performance of this function. Receives merchandise transfer SS112 from branchlocation Exchanges. Selects for shipment or transfer designated stock by proceeding to area finding stock and verifying information shown on shipping or transferring document against that on stock tags or bin tags determines from which stock or bin items are to be removed removes stock assuring that proper quantity and nomenclature of selected stock agree with information contained on document. Moves items selected to designated location by handcart conveyor or similar type conveyance of materials handling equipment. May prepare Transfer Delivery Receipt and issue to driver with merchandise to requestor. Receives Chargebacks for merchandise returns. Pulls merchandise removes price tags and stocks for pickup and delivery to vendor. Obtains signature for merchandise upon delivery. May be required to post retail price changes and notify concerned locations of such changes. May operate a forklift on occasion in the performance of assigned functions. Maintains working area in a clean and orderly manner. Assists in inventory taking. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who makes assignments and gives detailed oral and specific instructions on new or changed operations and changes from standard procedures. Routine work is accomplished according to specific oral or written instructions and established methods. Work is spot checked to insure that specific instructions are being followed. PHYSICAL EFFORT Driving requires moderate physical effort to operate controls. Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing stooping bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions may lift and carry supplies and material up to 100 pounds with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS Driving duties are performed outside and in all types of traffic and weather. Warehouse work is performed inside in open storage receiving or shipping areas. The area may by cold drafty damp or hot. Work is performed in close quarters in warehouse or bin aisles ramps or on platforms. Is exposed to injury from falling stock handling materials mechanical equipment and from accidents while driving. Performs other related duties as assigned. Successful completion of a preemployment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activitycommand Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the knowledge and ability to perform the duties of operating a motor vehicle to transport items to and from various locations. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE One year of experience operating a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of more than 10000lbs. and up to 26000lbs. to transport items to and from various locations. Possession of a valid state drivers license or a valid commercial drivers license CDL. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Driving requires moderate physical effort to operate controls. Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing stooping bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions may lift and carry supplies and material up to 100 pounds with assistance. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN, IF NOT, MUST HAVE LIVED INTHE U.S. FOR THREE (3) YEARS.
