Warehouse Associate – Anvil International & Smith Cooper International

Responsible for picking, receiving and loading all orders that flow through the warehouse according to company procedures while following safety practices and rules. Operating a forklift and computer are required along with the ability to lift heavy material up to 65 pounds.

Job Description:

Operating a forklift truck to pick and package all customer orders consistent with company standards

  • Receiving and putting away all incoming material

  • Loading all outgoing material and unloading all incoming material

  • Package UPS shipments

  • Clean designated areas of warehouse as needed

  • Label material according to customer specifications

  • Move material to new locations as needed

  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures and utilizing appropriate equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations in responsibility area.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required SkillsRequired Experience

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Prior experience in a distribution environment using an RF scanner is highly preferred.

  • At least 1 year of experience with forklift operation; be certified or become certified.

  • Knowledge of products carried by the company, pipes, valves, and fittings, is highly preferred

    Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively in a high transaction volume, fast paced environment

  • Possess positive team attitude and “can-do” approach.

  • Basic knowledge of computers to retrieve orders

  • Good customer service skills

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet department needs

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds without injury or harm.

  • Ability to push and pull up to 65 pounds in weight.

  • Excessive walking and prolonged standing.

  • Repetitive reaching, lifting, pulling and pushing.

  • Repetitive kneeling, stooping, bending, and squatting.

  • Ability to climb stairs.

  • Forceful gripping, grasping, and twisting.
