Job Title: Scale House Operator

n Summary of the Position: n

The scale house operator manages scale house operations, checks in drivers and handles related paperwork.

n

n Duties and Responsibilities: n


+ Responsible for updating and maintaining various office/departmental reports and logs as assigned. Receives purchased orders into QAD and follows up with corporate A/P. Receives delivery tickets and purchased orders into QAD. Issues lot numbers and makes pallet ID?s. (30%)

n

+ Responsible for operating truck scale ensuring that all incoming and outgoing trucks are weighed. Verifies bill of lading weights against truck scale weights for accuracy. Notifies distribution manager of any discrepancies. (20%)

n

+ Duties also include the organization and breaking down filing and distribution of the paperwork received in the shipping/receiving department. Checks and verifies purchase orders against the approved suppliers list and follows up according to procedures. (20%)

n

+ Works closely with the distribution manager. Responsible for keeping the manager informed of all incoming trucks and traffic flow. (10%)

n

+ Directs truck drivers in the distribution of their loads and directs them to correct dock doors and facilities. Updates the trucking website throughout the day. (10%)

n

+ Ensures all paperwork (shipping manifest, weight tickets, control forms, trucking invoices and billing of lading) is signed and completed. (5%)

n

+ Oversees building security and is watchful of any unauthorized individuals/vehicles entering the property. (5%)

n

+ Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.?

n

+ Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.?

n

+ Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.?

n

+ Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.?

n

+ Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.?

n Qualifications: n


+ One plus years experience in an office or shipping environment.

n

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

n

+ Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and WMS (Warehouse Management System).

n

+ Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

n

+ Strong communication skills.

n

+ Detail oriented with good math skills.

n

+ Self-starter with ability to handle heavy clerical workload.
