Sonoco 12 hr Nights Packer in DeKalb, Illinois

Sonoco, a leading manufacturer of a variety of highly engineered packaging solutions and specialty components, has the following Packer position available in our DeKalb facility.

Hours: 12hr Night Shift Rotate as Follows:Th, F, Sat 5:45pm-6amSunday offM, T, W 5:45pm-6amthen 7 nights off and repeat

Primary Responsibilities:

• Remove and inspect production parts from thermoforming machines and properly pack them according to specified instructions• Maintain accurate records of parts produced, material lot numbers and quality evaluation• Maintain a safe, clean work area at all times• Duties include but are not limited to the above

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent• Ability to read and understand shop orders, various production documents, and both oral and written job instructions• Ability to use equipment such as scales, box staplers, tape machine, etc.• Record and accurately maintain records pertaining to packing and shipping

Job requires continual standing, walking, and bending. Lifting requirements will generally be no more than 25 to 30 pounds but may be as high as 40 pounds (pallets).
