Due to the growth of our businesses, we are looking to hire qualified and experienced drivers. These positions can be very physically and mentally demanding. You will be lifting and carrying packages throughout the day while delivering the packages to businesses and residences in acommercial delivery truck. Responsibilities include: scanning & loading packages, driving a commercial vehicle, daily pre & post trip vehicle inspections, and superior and courteous customer service. These are full time seasonal positions. Employees delivering for FedEx Ground typically work Monday to Friday, and employees delivering for FedEx Home Delivery typically work from Tuesday to Saturday. During the peak delivery season between Thanksgiving and Christmas, both organizations work Monday through Saturday.Qualifications1. Clean background/criminal record. (We will run a background check.)2. Valid driver's license A class D license in Illinois (GVWR of less than 16,001 pounds) will allow you to drive any of our vehicles.3. Clean driving record. No suspended licenses. No accidents or driving violations. (Will be verified.)4. Must pass a drug test. (You will undergo a drug screen.)5. Must have 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience within the last 3 years, or 5 years within the last 106. Must have legal status to work in the USA.7. Must be punctual, energetic, reliable and honest.9. Must be able to pass a road test including DOT pre & post-trip routineSpecificsSuccessful candidates will: Be expected to work 8-12 hour days, depending upon incoming delivery volume. Normal hours are 07:00 until done. The length of work day will vary daily depending upon tendered packages for the assigned area. A typical day is 9-10 hours and never more than 14 hours. Drive a company supplied delivery vehicle (no semi's, no CDL required) from the FedEx terminal in Sauget, IL to make deliveries and pickups in a designated area, and then return to the terminal at the end of the day. Load and unload packages from assigned truck, use a hand held scanner and provided tools to deliver all tendered packages. Make any assigned pickups and return these packages to the FedEx terminal daily.
